About Us

01
To bring our community together through fun and inclusive events that anyone can walk into and feel at home.
03
To stand alongside causes close to our hearts: to help raise money for cancer research, suicide prevention, and other charities that matter to our community.

Mission
Everything The Fun Girls Club does comes back to four simple commitments:
Great Times. Greater Purpose. That is who we are.
02
To make Christmas magical for children in need and for individuals spending the festive season alone in hospital, through our Operation Christmas Magic gift project.
04
To create a warm, welcoming space for new parents and carers experiencing isolation, because nobody should feel alone. This is something we are working toward and cannot wait to bring to Burnley.

The Story Behind The Fun Girls Club
The Fun Girls Club started the way the best ideas usually do: with a big dream, a love of community, and a belief that fun and doing good don't have to be separate things.

Founded by Manon Hivet, a Burnley local with a passion for events, creativity, and bringing people together, The Fun Girls Club grew from a simple question: what if we could create a space where people genuinely enjoy themselves, and every good time we have makes someone else's Christmas a little more magical?

Despite the name, yes, of course everyone is welcome. Always. The Fun Girls Club is for anyone who believes that community matters, that joy is worth sharing, and that showing up for each other is one of the most powerful things we can do.

We're just getting started. And we can't wait to share what's coming with Burnley.

Manon
Some people start a charity. I started The Fun Girls Club (which is basically the same thing but with better playlists and more glitter).

I'm Manon, a French-born, Burnley-based, slightly chaotic creative who somehow ended up founding a charity. By day I work full time, by night I'm probably rewatching The Summer I Turned Pretty for the third fourth fifteenth time.

When I'm not planning events or obsessing over the next Fun Girls Club idea, you'll find me in the kitchen attempting something ambitious, at a gig somewhere wishing I could stay forever, or lost in a book while my daughter (who is two, completely fearless, and already running the household) reminds me that the laundry still needs doing.

Music is my love language, design is my happy place, and my family and friends are my whole world. The Fun Girls Club is built from all of those things: creativity, community, and the unshakeable belief that great times really do lead to greater purpose.

Welcome to the club. We're so glad you're here.Â
Lead Trustee & Founder
Nodding along supportively at Manon is part and parcel of being her husband. What she doesn’t realise is that I’d still be doing it if I’d only met her that afternoon - the truth is, I’ve never met anybody so determined to try and make a difference, to inject even just a little bit of joy back into the world for anyone she can. She's inspirational and that's infectious.Â
Â
By day I work in Digital Marketing, and by night you’ll find me fruitlessly trying to juggle my endless list of hobbies with entertaining our wonderful tornado of a daughter. Books, movies, plays, games, music, writing… everything is on that list, the only thing missing is enough time to get through it all.Â
Â
I’ve also believed in the power of community. Humans have long evolved to function better together, to make and share memories to ward off darkness. As a creative, a writer, and an experiencer of hardship, I’m all too familiar with being lost in my own head. The ability for us to allow people to connect for a good cause, and work towards dispelling a little bit of sadness in the world, is very much work I can get behind.Â
Â
Manon also promised I could add Rocky Night to the Popcorn Club if I did enough of the paperwork, so there’s that too.

When Manon asked me to be part of The Fun Girls Club, I said yes before she'd even finished explaining what it was. That's probably everything you need to know about me.Â
Â
I'm Chloe, a textiles and design teacher, certified Grey’s Anatomy binge watcher, and holder of the unique distinction of being engaged to a ginger. I’m one of those people who is always there on the other end of the phone (and then pretty rapidly there in person) when somebody needs something, which feels pretty apt considering what The Fun Girls Club is all about.Â
Â
I graduated university in 2024, and when I’m not in my (new) classroom inspiring the next generation of creatives, you'd probably find me doing something creative of my own, looking after my niece and nephews, or having a stunning nap.
Â
Life hasn’t always been the easiest for me, or the kindest to me, for various reasons, but that’s never stopped me wanting to try and put a smile on people’s faces and give back what I can. The Fun Girls Club, a charity built around creativity, community, and making sure nobody feels forgotten at Christmas, felt like the perfect opportunity to do just that. That’s why I didn’t even need to let Manon finish explaining what it was.
Â
And okay, yes, she bribed me too. She told me I could run the Craft Club.

Every project needs a person who believes in it before it becomes anything. For The Fun Girls Club, that person is Manon. Yes, there are two Manons - we’ve decided to make it efficient rather than confusing.Â

Manon came into my life through Be Our Guest Conventions and never really left. Which is saying something given she still lives in France. We built something together with Be Our Guest, and when The Fun Girls Club started taking shape she was right there again: brainstorming, supporting, contributing, and generally being the kind of friend that makes you believe your ideas are worth pursuing when you're doubting everything.

She is, without question, the biggest One Tree Hill fan in existence. I say this as someone who flew to Wilmington, North Carolina with her to visit the filming locations. I have seen the dedication firsthand and it’s impressive. Lucas and Peyton would be proud.

Manon can't volunteer at events in person but her support, energy, and belief in what we're building here has been woven into The Fun Girls Club from the very beginning. She is our Head of Moral Support and proof that borders mean nothing for the best partnerships.Â

Basically if The Fun Girls Club had a hype woman, it's her.

For those who don't know, Be Our Guest Conventions was a UK based events company I founded, dedicated to bringing together fans of film, television, and pop culture for unforgettable convention experiences. Manon came into the picture the way the best people do, as a fan who simply wanted the event to happen. We started talking, kept talking, and somewhere along the way talking turned into collaborating and collaborating turned into one of the most important friendships of my life. By the time Be Our Guest had run its course, she had become as much a part of it as anyone. The Fun Girls Club carries a little piece of everything we learned along the way.
